If you would like to send in your carburetor for restoration, here are a few things to note:
Please ship by Priority Mail to:
The Carburetor Doctor
Canal Flats, British Columbia V0B 1B0
Please do not send carburetors to us by UPS or other couriers. We can accept postal deliveries only.
- Carburetors must be packed securely with at least 3" of padding on all sides and so that they can't move around in the box (we are not responsible for damage in transit to us)
- Be sure to drain the carburetor of all gas and let it dry overnight. Invert it so that all the gas drains. Double-bag it so that the gasoline smell doesn't get out.
- Include a note inside the box with your name, address, phone number and email address. It's a good idea to email us before sending your carburetor.
What we do when we receive your carburetor
First, we do an external examination for general condition and obvious problems or damage. We take a series of pictures from all angles. If there is anything seriously wrong that is out of the ordinary or can't be fixed we'll email you right away.
Next, we disassemble the carburetor, taking pictures of all internal parts and noting the condition of the parts. If there is a serious issue, we'll email you.
After this comes cleaning, repairs, refinishing and reassembly.
When the carburetor is complete, we'll email you to arrange payment and return shipping. We can return ship to you using the postal service or UPS.
We accept payment by PayPal exclusively. You don't need a PayPal account. We send you a PayPal invoice by email which you can pay using credit or debit cards online at the secure PayPal site.
The time it takes us to restore a carburetor depends on the type of carburetor, the condition and how busy we are. Generally, it takes 3-4 weeks, though under certain circumstances it could take longer.
